About the Muster
Do you want to help prepare communities for natural threats before they happen? Join our muster event to support the Central Coast community and help with sand dune stabilisation to prevent coastal erosion and reduce fuel loads ahead of summer.
What to expect
The muster involves reducing the amount of invasive weed, Bitou bush, in the coastal dunes at Killcare Beach.
Bitou bush tends to dominate sites where it becomes established and the much-needed structure of the native vegetation for stabilising dunes can be lost.
Removing Bitou bush, which tends to grow densely, helps reduce the flammable biomass and therefore fuel load and helps to prevent coastal erosion.
Bring your own lunch, snacks and water for the day.
